Robert JohnsonGreen Mugs

Pieces from Nebraska potter Robert Johnson’s Wide Wale Corduroy series of functional ceramics are both a visual delight and a joy to handle. In this work, orderly texture, expertly glazed, is applied to bowls, vases, teapots, mugs and latte cups that have been exhibited in clay shows and invitationals across the country but are also perfect for everyday use.

Robert is a Studio Artist and Education Coordinator at Omaha Clayworks and is the 2008 Artist in Residence at the University of Nebraska-Omaha. He earned a BFA at the University of Kansas in Lawrence and has done graduate work at Utah State University in Logan. Recently, his work has been included in the Skin Deep Contemporary Ceramic Art Exhibition at Francis Marion University in South Carolina (Val Cushing, Juror); Starbuck Clay National in Nelsonville, Ohio (Chris Staley, Juror) and Fine Contemporary Crafts at ArtSpace in Raleigh, North Carolina (Susan Brandeis, Juror.)
