Michelle Allee is a Gulf Coast artist who resides in Pass Christian, Mississippi. Acrylic painting on unique textural surfaces is her primary medium. Her subject matters include hearts, queens, houses, trees and the human form. Primarily a self-taught artist, she has been instructed in various art techniques internationally. Michelle has exhibited her work for several years in galleries in Arizona, Texas, New Jersey, Washington DC, Mississippi and New Orleans, Louisana. She is currently contributing to displaced Gulf Coast artist exhibitions in Minneapolis and San Fransisco. Michelle is also a faux finishing decorative painter.

In her work, Michelle begins with a putty type compound. She uses the compound on canvas boards. After applying the compound on the canvas, she lets it dry, then uses an electric sander to smooth the surface, leaving some texture. She then uses acrylic paint, followed by several layers of tinted glaze and finishes her work by sealing it with a clear matte coating. She signs all pieces with a wax seal of an embossed crown as her signature.

Her favorite quote: "Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time." ~ Thomas Merton
